This month, the halls of the Alice C. Tyler Village of Childhelp echoed with laughter, rhythm, and joy as children experienced something truly special — a Drum Party filled with music, movement, and healing energy.

The Power of Rhythm Therapy

Rhythm has an incredible way of breaking through barriers, lifting spirits, and helping children process emotions that words sometimes cannot express. Through drumming circles and interactive beats, the children were able to explore creativity, release energy, and find calm through sound and movement.

Research shows that rhythm-based activities like drumming can reduce stress, improve focus, and enhance emotional regulation — making it a perfect complement to the nurturing environment that Childhelp provides for children recovering from trauma and abuse.

A Gift of Instruments and Hope

In addition to leading the event, the Drum Party team received a generous donation of drums, bells, and percussion instruments from the Village. These instruments will continue to be used in therapeutic and recreational activities, ensuring that the rhythm of healing continues long after the event.

We extend our deepest gratitude to the Village for their kindness, generosity, and heartfelt contribution. Because of you, the children of Alice C. Tyler Village can continue to explore rhythm, expression, and healing every day.

Continuing the Beat

The success of this Drum Party reminds us all that small acts of kindness can make a big difference. Whether it’s a beat on a drum, a chime of a bell, or a shared moment of joy, rhythm has the power to build bridges, foster healing, and remind children that they are valued and loved.

Feedback from the Village

From all of us at the Alice C. Tyler Village of Childhelp, thank you to our incredible Drum Party volunteers for giving your time, energy, and hearts — and for sharing the gift of rhythm with our children.
