First let me say Thank You to each of you for being so supportive of this vision I had only a few months ago!!

We got to see it come to life a few weekends ago when we set up at Indian Acres. It was everything I hoped it would be as we saw a real impact on a family on day one when their son with Autism went to town on all the drums we had. We now have our first Parent Advocate Mandi Meridith.

Mandi Meridith

We will be working with her in Stafford County setting up a parent group with kids with disabilities. I plan on doing a lot of kid activities here at Indian Acres including an Intro to Percussion Class.

I have formed a partnership with Chancellors Village, a large Senior assisted living and independent living community, and will go on the second and fourth Wednesdays at 11am starting in November. One of those Wednesdays falls on Christmas Eve so I am already planning a fun Christmas music set for that day. I have had another facility reach out wanting us to come in so our Elder Outreach will be in full swing soon.

Another partnership on the horizon will be with Brain Injury Services. They already have programs running to help people of all ages recover from brain injuries so it will be a plug and play situation there and they are excited for us to join them in their mission as they are also a nonprofit. Check them out here www.braininjurysvcs.org

We will be meeting soon to start working together. I will keep you all updated on that as it progresses.

The Veteran Outreach is just beginning and we have had conversations with a person that runs a retreat for Veterans and families called Valor Ranch. They just had their last retreat weekend of the season but are very interested in a partnership come springtime.

WE have an appearance coming up at The Witches and Wizards Market on Oct. 26th and may also do something here at Indian Acres for Halloween. The lady that contacted me to come to the Witches Market offered it for free and also does many other events including 4 car shows a year and more so I'm hoping for lots of fundraising opportunities there!!
